A group of five women with a common thread came together to create Mahila. They found that they had more than just careers, family, and a city in common, they believed in the inherent strength of women. Empowering one woman meant impacting her family, the society she lives in, and future generations. This led to passionate conversations about how they could best share their strength with others to bring about meaningful, lasting change. After a few meetings and many discussions, Mahila was born.
Mahila means woman in Hindi. To them, Mahila at its core is an organization created by women for women.
